Counselling and psychotherapy both offer support during periods of distress and help you make changes in your life. There isn’t a sharp distinction between them, but counselling tends to be shorter term and concerned with specific problems, while psychotherapy tends towards the longer term and the exploration of what underlies the way we are. Our aim is to help people work out how they ‘tick’ so that they are better equipped to lead a happier and more fulfilling life.
Both are about being understood in a supportive, non-judgmental and confidential relationship in which to explore and gain a deeper understanding of yourself and others
an opportunity to make sense of your past and consider how you respond to the present and prepare for the future helping you to find your own way of living in a more satisfying and resourceful way
